Owing to its location in the border region and the relatively good public transport links of Frisange and Aspelt, the municipality of Frisange has increasingly turned into a Park Ride site on the public roads.
For this reason, the municipality had already introduced residential parking in the centre of Frisange in January 2011. However, this only partially resolved the problem.
After several CSV interventions in the municipal council on this matter, it was discussed that the situation is also becoming increasingly acute in Aspelt and Hellange. This is due to people who take the bus and leave their car parked all day, or to companies that treat public space as a parking lot for their vehicle fleet.
That is why the CSV welcomes the fact that residential parking will now be introduced throughout the municipality as a single sector. As CSV, however, we would have welcomed if the midday break had also been covered without interruption. Then simply turning the parking disc would no longer be enough. The spokesperson for the college of aldermen has nevertheless assured us that our municipal officers will monitor this very rigorously.
